Why We Started
Finly was founded by attorney Stanley Tate, CEO, one of the most recognized student loan lawyers in the country. While Finly is a new brand, it’s built on years of hands-on experience helping borrowers get real results.
Stanley first launched his practice as a student loan law firm, focused on providing legal solutions. But he quickly realized that many borrowers don’t think they need a student loan lawyer—they just need a problem solver. That insight led to the creation of Finly. While Stanley brings legal training and deep expertise, the focus isn’t just on law—it’s on solving problems, period. We operate more like a Certified Student Loan Planner, but supercharged with legal knowledge and the ability to step in when things get serious.
When we looked at the landscape, we saw that no one else was doing this. We were the only law firm ranking alongside sites like NerdWallet, College Investor, and Student Loan Planner, yet none of them offered a done-for-you service. That was the missing piece.
